Antonio Conte reportedly agrees to become Real Madrid manager as Los Blancos prepare to sack current man Julen Lopetegui
The Italian has won league titles in England and Italy, and will now seemingly look to do the same in Spain
Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has formally agreed to take over at Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Spanish giants are set to sack current boss Julen Lopetegui, who has endured a disastrous start to his reign at the Bernabeu with Madrid losing three of their last four matches in all competitions.
Real have already endured defeat twice in La Liga this season and the club hierarchy are reportedly losing patience with the former Spain head coach.
Conte has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in the summer, after winning the Premier League and an FA Cup in his two-year stint in west London.
The Italian has been waiting for the right opportunity to return to club management and, according to Corriere dello Sport, the 49-year-old has formally agreed to take over at Real Madrid.
Conte has spoken with Madrid chiefs and has advised them of his desire to take over at the Bernabeu, with Lopetegui expected to be sacked imminently.
